This is a Bluegrass Purse SMALL made a few years ago using walnuts from an OLD tree near where I worked.
It made the most beautiful warm coffee color dye that I have ever been able to make and I have used many different walnut trees.
Due to age making it brittle and the high winds of a storm the old tree finally had to be cut down. Because of that I have never put a rim on this basket; not wanting to cover the wonderful walnut stain of the stakes that are turned under.
I use this basket to hold my tools. The colors and design of this small basket inspire and encourage me to make each new basket as lovely as this one.
